This free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter initially hit the PC market via Steam on March 6. While the console release was originally set for the same day, last-minute optimizations delayed it. ⚫︎ On March 18, FragPunk introduced a new balance update without any server downtime. This update enhances the gameplay by increasing overall movement speed and refining footstep audio effects. It also includes weapon and Lancer ability balancing, removes the “Hide your name” feature to bolster anti-cheat efforts, and fixes numerous gameplay and UI bugs. ⚫︎ Bad Guitar, the developer of FragPunk, announced a delay in the console release due to unforeseen technical challenges in optimization and adaptation. These issues surfaced during compliance testing for the Xbox and PlayStation versions, leading to a postponed launch to guarantee a uniform experience across all platforms.
To make up for the delay, all console players will receive rewards upon the game's release, including in-game currencies, cosmetics, and experience boosts. More information on these rewards will be provided in future updates.
