A new trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what promises to be a thrilling addition to the Alien franchise. The trailer, which was first showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account and provides a detailed look at the series' narrative and aesthetic.

The trailer depicts the harrowing scenario of survivors aboard a spaceship ravaged by a Xenomorph, now hurtling towards Earth. The new Xenomorph design is showcased, and the visual style closely mirrors that of Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 film, Alien. A particularly striking scene unfolds in a MU/TH/UR control room, reminiscent of the Nostromo's iconic setting, where a crew member desperately seeks help as the Xenomorph closes in. Meanwhile, Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly reports the escape of the "specimens," pronounces the crew dead, and sets the ship on a collision course with Earth. The trailer also teases the arrival of six soldiers, likely heading towards the doomed vessel, hinting at the perilous encounters that await them.

The trailer raises several intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other survivors, and has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? How will the soldiers meet their fate?

Alien: Earth is set to explore these mysteries, following the crash of a mysterious spaceship on Earth. The narrative centers on a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers who uncover a dangerous secret, confronting Earth's greatest threat head-on.

Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth is positioned within the Alien timeline, occurring after the events of Prometheus and just two years before the original Alien. This setting has led fans to speculate that the series might reveal how the Nostromo embarked on its fateful journey or how the corporation Weyland-Yutani first learned about the Xenomorphs. Notably, the recently released interquel Alien: Romulus takes place between Alien and Aliens.

Showrunner Noah Hawley has stated that he chose not to utilize the backstory from Prometheus for Alien: Earth, preferring the "retro-futurism" aesthetic of the original films. Despite discussing various elements with Ridley Scott, Hawley decided to diverge from the bioweapon storyline established in the prequels, opting instead to honor the lore of the initial movies.

Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with Alien: Romulus 2 also in development, promising more thrilling adventures in the Alien universe.
