Bam Margera Joins THPS 3+4 Following Tony Hawk's Insistence

by Simon Jul 15,2025

Bam Margera was initially absent from the recently revealed list of returning skaters for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, sparking speculation about his involvement in the highly anticipated remake. However, new reports suggest that Margera will indeed be included in the final version of the game.

This update comes from Roger Bagley, a respected figure in skateboarding media, during a members-only livestream of The Nine Club skateboarding podcast (as reported by Video Games Chronicle).

[ttpp] According to Bagley, the game was “already done” when Tony Hawk reportedly reached out to Activision to request Margera’s inclusion. Despite initial pushback—where Hawk was told it was no longer possible—Hawk allegedly refused to accept that answer, pushing for Margera’s addition to the roster.

IGN has reached out to Activision for confirmation, but no official statement has been released at this time.

Margera, a former professional skateboarder and well-known cast member of the Jackass franchise, has faced significant personal struggles in recent years, including well-documented battles with alcohol and substance abuse. He has undergone multiple rehab stints and was ultimately removed from Jackass Forever. Additionally, a restraining order was issued in favor of Jackass director Jeff Tremaine following alleged threats made toward him and his family.

The possibility of Margera’s return gained traction after he and Tony Hawk were seen skateboarding together in a recently shared video, reigniting fan speculation about his potential in-game comeback.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, officially announced earlier this month, is set to launch on July 11, 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It is being developed by Iron Galaxy, stepping in after the project was nearly canceled following Activision’s internal restructuring—including the merger of former series developer Vicarious Visions with Blizzard.
