Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and accessible only via a destroyed bridge, presents a significant hurdle in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and reach the island.
Method 1: The Spirit Bridge
The remnants of a bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, closer to Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path. Use Spirit Vision to reveal the broken sections. Crossing requires:
- Gloves of Teleportation: Teleport each party member individually.
- Translocation Skills: Utilize skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat. Note that not all companions possess these abilities.
- Teleporter Pyramids: Place one pyramid with a companion using translocation. They cross, then the rest teleport using the second pyramid.
- Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island, establishes a waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
Method 2: The Undead Ferry
An undead ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers passage. However, this is a trap!
- With Fane: Only Fane, being undead and immune to Deathfog, survives the crossing. He establishes a waypoint, allowing the party to fast travel.
- Without Fane: Use two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion sacrifices themselves, then the rest teleport and resurrect them. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.
Method 3: The Undead Ferry (Without Fane - Alternative)
If you lack Fane and prefer the ferry, this alternative using Teleporter Pyramids is safer:
- Equip a companion with a Teleporter Pyramid.
- Have that companion take the ferry (they will die).
- The remaining party, while still chained, uses the second pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion.
- Resurrect the companion.
Recommendation: Unless you specifically want to utilize the ferry for roleplaying or challenge, the bridge method is generally faster and more efficient, especially without Fane.
Caution: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless prepared. He counters with a deadly Deathfog spell. A quick save before engaging is strongly advised. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3750 XP.
