Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming title will offer exclusive early access to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the exclusion of PC players from this initial testing phase. However, selected console gamers will enjoy a sneak peek before the official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, introducing a chilling new setting and gameplay experiences. While console users get early access, PC players will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging feature. Director Junya Ishizaki cited time constraints as the reason. With each play session lasting approximately forty minutes, there's insufficient time to utilize the messaging system.

Ishizaki stated, "The messaging feature has been disabled due to the limited time available for sending and reading messages within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
