Remedy has officially announced June 17, 2025, as the release date for FBC: Firebreak, a highly anticipated multiplayer PvE experience set within the Control universe. This session-based game invites players into replayable missions called "Jobs," each presenting unique challenges, objectives, and environments that emphasize teamwork and adaptability.
Launching on PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99, FBC: Firebreak will also be available day one on PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first self-published title.
In addition to the standard version, Remedy is offering the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This premium edition includes exclusive cosmetics, voice packs, and additional content. Existing base game owners can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.
The Deluxe Edition comes packed with:
- "The Firestarter" Premium Voice Pack
- "The Pencil Pusher" Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: "Firestarter" – A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
According to Remedy, FBC: Firebreak introduces a revolutionary system called "Requisitions." This feature rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game, using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Items added to the game are always available and never subject to limited-time windows or rotating stores. For those seeking premium customization, Classified Requisitions offer exclusive cosmetics—such as armor sets, voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins—available for purchase with real money. These items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay.
Remedy has committed to ongoing post-launch support, with plans to release two new Jobs in 2025 and further updates in 2026. All playable content released post-launch will be free for all players, while cosmetic purchases will remain optional and non-impactful to gameplay.
As Remedy juggles multiple ambitious projects—including Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation—fans are eagerly anticipating their next move. Which upcoming Remedy game are you most excited to play?
