Square Enix has officially announced that the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI will launch on PC on September 17th. This announcement carries a positive message for PC gamers, with the director suggesting the possibility of future titles releasing simultaneously across multiple platforms.
The PC version will be available for $49.99, with a Complete Edition priced at $69.99. The Complete Edition includes the two story expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. A playable demo, featuring the prologue and a combat-focused "Eikonic Challenge," is currently available. Progress from the demo carries over to the full game.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Director Hiroshi Takai highlighted the PC version's enhanced features, stating, "we've increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can choose from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
