Freedom Wars Remastered boasts enhanced gameplay on PS5 and PS4

Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will once again battle massive mechanical creatures, upgrade their equipment, and complete challenging missions in a world ravaged by resource depletion.

The remastered version boasts significant improvements. Enhanced visuals, smoother gameplay, and a revamped crafting system are just some of the highlights. Specific upgrades include a significant resolution boost (up to 4K on PS5 and PC), a new, more challenging difficulty mode ("Deadly Sinner"), and the inclusion of all original customization DLC. The game launches January 10th for PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

Freedom Wars, originally a PS Vita exclusive, shares a similar gameplay loop with the Monster Hunter series (following Capcom's move to other platforms). Players take on the role of a "Sinner," sentenced to perform missions for their Panopticon (city-state). These missions involve various objectives, from rescuing citizens to eliminating powerful mechanical adversaries known as Abductors, and can be tackled solo or with online co-op partners.

Gameplay Enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered:

The trailer demonstrates the improved gameplay mechanics. The enhanced visuals are immediately apparent, with resolutions ranging from 1080p (60fps on PS4, 30fps on Switch) to 4K (60fps on PS5 and PC). Gameplay is faster-paced thanks to increased movement speed and new attack cancellation mechanics.

The crafting system has undergone a complete overhaul, featuring more intuitive interfaces and the ability to freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows players to upgrade their equipment using resources gathered by rescuing citizens. The addition of the "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode provides a significant challenge for experienced players. Importantly, all previously released customization DLC from the PS Vita version is included from the outset.
