For fans of realistic driving simulations, January 16th, 2025 marks a significant date. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO into Steam Early Access.
At launch, players will experience 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect impressive physics, precise handling, and incredibly realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode, perfect for exploring the included tracks. A major summer 2025 update promises a game-changer: a vast, fully laser-scanned open-world environment encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads, covering up to 1600 square kilometers. This open world will expand gradually with future updates.
Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO aims to challenge the likes of Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic graphics and advanced physics.
The Early Access release will initially feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more content planned for free post-launch updates. Every circuit will accurately replicate real-world conditions, including tire wear, wet track surfaces, and animated spectators, for an immersive experience.
The developers have also refined car dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, included in Early Access, challenges players to complete specific tracks within time limits, working towards a license to unlock high-performance vehicles. This mode will be a key single-player experience.
