Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have hit Steam, but they've brought along a parade of drama. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure finally made its way to Valve’s digital storefront after months of Epic Game Store exclusivity. What should have been a celebration for fans turned sour due to a wardrobe of technical issues, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. The developers have apologized and promised compensation, but the battle for Infinity Nikki is far from over.

PC players eagerly anticipated the Steam release but were met with crashes and instability that prevented the game from launching. While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, players were further dismayed by the new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, which require 11 pieces—potentially up to 220 pulls—to complete. This unexpected increase in outfit piece requirements, without prior warning, has raised concerns about future demands on players.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. Amidst the technical issues and perceived aggressive monetization, the Chinese player base took to the social media platform RedNote, sparking a movement. Now, a significant portion of the global community is calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging players to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
Reddit user kiaxxl highlighted the importance of withholding pulls in a call-to-action post, stating, "What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game. For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."
The backlash has been significant, resulting in a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players warn newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and grievances addressed. The boycott gained enough traction that Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, promising to fix the most pressing technical issues and improve communication about future adjustments.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
Infold committed to reverting Mira Crown to end on May 16 and starting the next season on the same day, along with providing compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step in the right direction, it's not the comprehensive overhaul many players hoped for.
Some players celebrated the quick response, but concerns linger about the persistence of 11-piece outfits. As user EdensAsmr noted on Reddit, "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the ongoing issues, Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now live. Players can enjoy 100 free pulls and redeem new codes for Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For those exploring the new Sea of Stars area, an interactive map is available to track progress with checklists. The community remains vigilant, urging players to keep up the pressure for further improvements.
