Marvel Snap's Victoria Hand: Deck Strategies and Value Assessment

Despite the ongoing success of Pokémon TCG Pocket, Marvel Snap continues its steady release of new cards. This month's additions include Iron Patriot (from the season pass) and its synergistic partner, Victoria Hand. This guide explores optimal Victoria Hand deck builds and assesses her overall value.

Victoria Hand's Mechanics

Victoria Hand is a 2-cost, 3-power card with the ongoing ability: “Your cards created in your hand have +2 Power.”

Her effect is straightforward: a Cerebro-like boost for hand-generated cards. Crucially, this bonus does not apply to cards generated within your deck (rendering her ineffective with cards like Arishem).

Strong Synergies: Maria Hill, Sentinel, Agent Coulson, and Iron Patriot.

Early Game Considerations: Be mindful of Rogues and Enchantresses in the initial weeks post-release, as they can disrupt her effect. Her 2-cost Ongoing nature allows for strategic late-game deployment.

Top Victoria Hand Decks (Day One)

Victoria Hand's best synergy is arguably with the season pass card, Iron Patriot (generating a high-cost card with a reduced cost). It's unlikely you'll see one without the other. This pairing could revitalize older Devil Dinosaur decks:

Devil Dinosaur Deck:

Maria Hill, Quinjet, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sentinel, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Agent Coulson, Shang-Chi, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur (Copy this list from Untapped)

Key Cards: Hydra Bob (substitutable with a strong 1-cost card like Nebula), Kate Bishop, and Wiccan are essential.

This deck leverages Sentinel's power; with Victoria Hand's effect, generated Sentinels become 2-cost, 5-power cards, boosted further to 7 power with Mystique's copy ability. Wiccan provides a powerful final turn play, potentially combining Devil Dinosaur, Victoria Hand, and a Sentinel for maximum impact. If Wiccan fails to activate, focus on securing another lane with Devil Dinosaur (potentially copied by Mystique).

Arishem Deck:

Another approach utilizes the often-reviled Arishem, despite the ongoing effect not impacting cards added directly to the deck.

Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Sentinel, Valentina, Agent Coulson, Doom 2099, Galactus, Daughter of Galactus, Nick Fury, Legion, Doctor Doom, Alioth, Mockingbird, Arishem (Copy this list from Untapped)

This deck relies on the random card generation inherent in Arishem, even with his recent nerf. Cards like Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Sentinel, Valentina, Agent Coulson, and Nick Fury generate cards that benefit from Victoria Hand's boost. While the deck-generated cards won't receive the bonus, the overall card generation strategy remains effective.

Is Victoria Hand Worth the Investment?

Victoria Hand is a valuable addition for players enjoying hand-generation strategies, especially when paired with Iron Patriot. Her powerful effect will likely see occasional meta appearances. However, she's not a collection-defining card; skipping her won't significantly hinder progress.

That said, considering the relatively weaker cards slated for release later this month, investing in Victoria Hand might be a prudent use of resources.
