Writer and filmmaker Ahmed Alameen is set to launch his debut point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, on May 30th. This narrative-driven puzzler, inspired by Mesopotamian history, promises to immerse players in a compelling storyline and challenging puzzles.

In My Father Lied, you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman on a quest to unravel the mystery of her father's disappearance, which occurred twenty years ago. The journey begins when Huda learns of a brother she never knew existed, prompting her to delve into the secrets her father left behind.

Originally, Alameen collaborated with a college classmate on this project, serving as the narrative designer. After the partnership dissolved, Alameen took it upon himself to master game design and complete the game solo.

ytAs you navigate through the game, you'll employ point-and-click mechanics to explore and solve intricate puzzles. From piecing together images to cracking codes, you'll journey through hauntingly beautiful environments. Alameen draws inspiration from classics like Myst and Heaven's Vault, as well as the literary works of H.P. Lovecraft, to craft a unique gaming experience.

To achieve high-quality visuals that can run smoothly on low-end PCs, Alameen opted for a creative approach, utilizing both 2D and 360-degree images. This method extends to the game's cutscenes, which are meticulously crafted frame by frame.

My Father Lied will be available for purchase on the App Store, Google Play, and for PC via Steam at a price of $10.99/€10.99. You can add the game to your Steam Wishlist now, though mobile pre-registration is not yet available. For more information and updates, follow Lunar Games on X, Discord, TikTok, or Instagram.
