The Battle of Polytopia has introduced an exciting new competitive feature with the launch of Weekly Challenges, enhancing the experience of this popular 4X strategy game. This new addition promises a fresh way to test your strategic skills. Let's dive into what this means for players.
It Was Random Before
Previously, the game's inherent randomness, from varying enemies and resources to diverse maps, kept the gameplay unpredictable. However, with the new free update, the competition is now more structured and consistent.
Every week, players will face the same map, the same tribe, and identical gameplay conditions. The challenge? Accumulate the highest possible score within 20 turns. You can attempt this challenge once per day, allowing for a maximum of seven tries per week.
This new feature also allows players to experience tribes they might not yet own. With a total of 16 tribes—four available in the base game and twelve more available for purchase at $1-4 each—Weekly Challenges ensure everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.
Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, the introduction of Weekly Challenges adds a new layer of excitement to The Battle of Polytopia. Additionally, the new mode introduces a League system where everyone starts in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines whether you move up or down the ranks. The top third of players advance, the bottom third are relegated, and those in the middle remain in their current league.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level increases. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you're up against Crazy difficulty bots. And don't worry, if you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of other players.
