Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom's Fastest-Selling Game Ever

Monster Hunter Wilds is Capcom's Fastest Selling Game, Moving 8 Million Copies in 3 Days

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has officially claimed the title of Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold within its first three days on the market. Capcom proudly announced this remarkable achievement on their website, highlighting the game's unprecedented success.

This triumph follows earlier reports from SteamDB, which indicated MH Wilds had already amassed over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam alone, despite receiving mixed reviews. Capcom attributes this incredible success to a multifaceted strategy: extensive marketing campaigns reaching a broad audience, prominent appearances at major gaming events, and a well-received open beta test that gave players a taste of the action.

Latest Update Addresses Critical Bugs

MH Wilds recently addressed several game-breaking bugs that were hindering player progress. On March 4th, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) the release of hot fix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 across all platforms.

This crucial update resolved numerous issues, including the inability to unlock the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features, inaccessibility of the Monster Field Guide, and most importantly, a game-breaking bug preventing story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are now required to update the game to continue online play.

However, some bugs remain, including a network error triggered by SOS flares during quests, and issues with Palico blunt weapon attacks not inflicting stun and exhaust damage. These primarily multiplayer-related bugs are expected to be addressed in a future patch.
