Netflix to Launch Animated Series in Clash of Clans, Royale Universe

by Grace Jun 14,2025

Netflix and Supercell have officially unveiled plans to expand the Clash universe beyond gaming with an upcoming animated series based on Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. The show, already in pre-production, promises to bring the chaotic charm and signature humor of the games to life.

According to a Netflix press release, the series will "build upon the mayhem of the games," following the adventures of a determined but outmatched Barbarian who must unite a group of misfit warriors to protect their village from destruction. Along the way, they’ll also contend with the hilariously over-the-top politics of war—something fans of the game are sure to appreciate.

The official Clash of Clans social media team shared the news with excitement:

"Sound the horns, raise the banners, and reinforce your village walls—Clash is invading @Netflix! We’re making a new animated series starring your favorite mustachioed Barbarian and his high-pitched, hog-riding friends. Charge!"

They also released a lighthearted teaser video, showing developers announcing the project via a humorous FaceTime-style call.

John Derderian, VP of Animation at Netflix, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration:
“Clash has been a global gaming phenomenon for over a decade – filled with humor, action, and unforgettable characters perfect for an animated series adaptation.”

He added, “Working with the incredible team at Supercell, Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, we’re bringing all the fun, chaos, and spirit of the world of Clash to life in a whole new way. We can’t wait for fans—old and new—to experience the mayhem.”

While the Clash animated series remains in its early stages without a set release date, Netflix continues to invest heavily in adapting popular video games into compelling stories. Their success with shows like Arcane (based on League of Legends) and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Cyberpunk 2077) proves the potential of such adaptations.

Other notable entries in Netflix’s growing library of game-inspired content include Resident Evil, Tekken: Bloodline, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Dragon's Dogma, Dragon Age: Absolution, and Castlevania—each helping to redefine how audiences experience beloved digital worlds.
