Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Snake-Themed Mass Outbreak Event
A special Mass Outbreak event is underway in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, celebrating the Year of the Snake! This limited-time event, running until January 12th, features increased Shiny encounter rates for Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper.
This event follows the recent Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid, a fitting end to the Year of the Dragon. Now, with the Year of the Snake upon us, trainers can anticipate larger-than-usual populations of these serpentine Pokémon.
Event Details:
- Duration: January 9th (7:00 PM ET) – January 12th (6:59 PM ET)
- Featured Pokémon: Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper
- Locations: Silicobra (all land areas), Ekans (Kitakami region), Seviper (Terarium)
- Level Range: 10-65 (depending on game progress)
- Shiny Odds Boost: A 0.5% increase to base Shiny rates. Shiny Sandwich crafting is recommended for further boosted odds. (Salty/Spicy Herba Mystica + Green Bell Pepper for Ekans/Seviper; Ham instead of pepper for Silicobra).
- Accessing the Event: Requires an internet connection. Access the Poke Portal via the in-game menu and select "Get Poke Portal News."
The event perfectly mirrors the upcoming Year of the Snake, offering players a chance to catch these Pokémon in abundance. However, the future of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet beyond this event remains uncertain, particularly with the anticipated launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A in 2025. The Pokémon Company’s plans for the year remain to be seen.
