The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was met with enthusiasm, but the trading feature quickly became a point of contention due to the cumbersome Trading Tokens and restrictive trading rules. Fortunately, a new update aims to address these issues and enhance the overall trading experience.
The first significant change is the complete removal of Trading Tokens. No longer will players need to trade cards to acquire the currency needed for trading. Instead, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will now require Shinedust. This new currency is earned when you open a booster pack and receive a card that is already registered in your Card Dex.
For those who currently hold Trading Tokens, there's good news: these can be converted into Shinedust. Given that Shinedust is also essential for acquiring flair, further modifications are planned to streamline this aspect of the game. An upcoming update will also introduce an in-game function allowing players to share cards they are interested in trading.
As previously discussed, the initial implementation of trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket seemed somewhat half-hearted. The digital nature of the game necessitates more stringent trading restrictions to prevent abuse, which has been a challenge. However, these changes, while promising, are slated to roll out no earlier than autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring and summer months. This slow pace of implementation has left many wishing for quicker action from the development team.
