Crunchyroll brings the rhythm-based roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, to Android! Now available on mobile (titled "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer"), this beat-matching adventure challenges players to navigate procedurally generated dungeons while keeping time to the music.
Originally released on PC in 2015 and previously available on iOS and Android, this Crunchyroll release boasts expanded content.
What awaits in the Crypt?
Players step into the shoes of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter searching for her missing parent within a rhythmically-infused crypt. The roguelike nature ensures every playthrough is unique. Fifteen playable characters, each with distinct styles, add replayability. Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack provides the driving beat, demanding precise timing for movement and attacks. Fail to stay in sync, and you're out! Expect a cast of equally rhythmic enemies, from dancing skeletons to hip-hop dragons.
More Than Just a Port
This mobile version isn't just a simple port. Crunchyroll and Brace Yourself Games have included remixes, new content, and even Danganronpa character skins. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support are also key features. Further enhancing the experience, DLC featuring Hatsune Miku and the Synchrony expansion is slated for later this year.
Crunchyroll subscribers can download Crypt of the NecroDancer now from the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for more gaming news, including the upcoming Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover!
