Stellar Blade's Patch 1.009: A Double-Edged Sword of Delight and Disruption
Stellar Blade's highly anticipated update, Patch 1.009, delivered the promised Photo Mode and NieR: Automata crossover DLC, but unfortunately, also introduced several game-breaking bugs. While players eagerly embraced the new features, issues quickly arose, including softlocks during a specific main quest and crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera. Additionally, some cosmetic items from the DLC failed to render correctly.
Developer Shift Up is actively addressing these problems with an imminent hotfix patch. Players are advised to avoid forcing quest progression until the patch arrives to prevent potential permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The 1.009 update boasts a significant addition: a collaboration with NieR: Automata. The developers highlight the mutual inspiration between the two titles, resulting in eleven exclusive items obtainable by interacting with Emil from NieR: Automata within Stellar Blade's world.
The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges encourage creative use of this feature. Further enhancing customization, four new outfits for Eve, a new accessory affecting Tachy Mode, and a "No Ponytail" option have been added. Improvements also include lip-sync support for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality, and various minor bug fixes for a more polished gaming experience. Despite the initial setbacks, the overall update offers substantial new content and quality-of-life improvements.
