The universe of Stellar Mercenaries has expanded with the thrilling Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content and bringing the action to the largest planet in our solar system. If you're new to this, Stellar Mercenaries is an engaging vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you tackle procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and aim to become the most feared mercenary across the solar system.
What's New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
With the Jupiter Expansion, the planet itself and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—become battlegrounds, each presenting unique challenges. Ganymede is a barren wasteland, Io is cloaked in volcanic debris, Europa is a frozen and treacherous terrain, while Jupiter is notorious for its fierce storms.
The expansion introduces two new factions to the fray: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws.
Players can now dive into 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting, piracy missions, escort duties, and train defense missions. The fleet expands with six new ships—the Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker—alongside a new arsenal featuring the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
There Are New Hazards, Shields, and More
The update also introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, enhancing your defensive capabilities. New hazards await, such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have evolved into new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk, adding to the challenge.
To complement the expanded gameplay, the Jupiter Expansion adds 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system. Dive into the expanded universe of Stellar Mercenaries by checking it out on the Google Play Store—there's a wealth of new content waiting for you!
