Akatsuki Games has officially announced the end of service for its latest release, Tribe Nine. It's surprising news considering the game launched just a few months ago in February on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. What led to this sudden decision? Read on to learn the full story.
Tribe Nine End of Service Date
Tribe Nine will be officially discontinued on November 27, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that the planned Chapter 4 of the main storyline will not be released. This is particularly disappointing as the game had recently begun revealing major story developments. All future updates, including new features, content, and bug fixes, have been canceled as of May 15. This means any previously announced adjustments or additions mentioned in official notices will no longer happen.
Additionally, two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will not be joining the game's roster as originally planned. Refunds will be provided for paid Enigma Entities used on specific items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract period concludes.
Purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes have been disabled across all platforms, including the in-app and web stores. However, players can continue using any existing Enigma Entities until the game shuts down in November.
Reasons Behind the Early Shutdown
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG with distinctive visual style and immersive world-building. Despite its qualities, the game faced challenges from the beginning. Its content rollout was notably slow, with only one story chapter and a single event released over three months. Furthermore, the game's monetization struggled—players could assemble strong teams with minimal pulls, and duplicate characters weren't necessary. While player-friendly, this model limited revenue potential.
Adopting a gacha system proved to be a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not succeed. The game remains available to play until November 27, so if you haven't tried it yet, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
