Wingspan Will Release Its Asia Expansion This Year with New Cards and Modes

The popular strategy video game Wingspan is about to get a significant boost with the upcoming Asia Expansion, launching later this year. While the exact release date remains under wraps, we know it's bringing a flock of exciting new features.

Wingspan Asia Expansion: A Closer Look

Prepare for a stunning array of new additions from across Asia. The expansion introduces beautiful birds with unique abilities and fascinating facts, hailing from India, China, and Japan. These aren't just pretty faces; each bird brings strategic depth to your gameplay.

Adding to the strategic options are 13 new bonus cards, including two specifically designed for Automa mode, enhancing the solo gameplay experience. Four breathtaking new backgrounds, inspired by diverse Asian landscapes, will immerse you in the beauty of the region. Eight new player portraits, reflecting local cultural influences, add a personalized touch.

A highly anticipated addition is the Duet Mode, offering an intense head-to-head Wingspan experience. Players will compete on a special Duet Map, vying for habitat spaces and striving towards unique end-of-round goals.

Even the soundscape is getting an upgrade! The game's soundtrack, composed by Paweł Górniak, will feature four new, relaxing tracks, perfectly complementing your bird-watching and strategic planning.

Haven't Tried Wingspan Yet?

Adapted from Elizabeth Hargrave's acclaimed card-based board game, Wingspan first took flight digitally in 2020 on PC, followed by mobile versions in 2021. The game challenges you to attract the most desirable birds to your wildlife preserve, strategically building powerful combinations. With a limited number of turns, you'll carefully manage food, egg-laying, and card draws, all while experiencing the authentic behaviors of real-world birds – hawks hunting, pelicans fishing, and geese flocking.

While you eagerly await the Wingspan: Asia Expansion, you can explore the European and Oceania expansions by downloading the game from the Google Play Store.
