Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each comprising two players sitting opposite each other at a table. The game uses a standard 52-card deck, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player attempts to predict the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team will win in a given round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" (trump) throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw the same type of paper. The first player to successfully match the paper type wins the "Bamh" (trick). Tarneeb papers are superior to any other type of paper; only a stronger Tarneeb paper can defeat it.
The round concludes when all players have played their cards. Points are tallied. A team's bid must be met or exceeded to score points. If successful, the team gains points equal to the number of "Allmat" won. If unsuccessful, the points are deducted, and the opposing team gains points based on the number of "Allmat" they won.
If a team achieves 13 tricks without bidding for 13, they receive 16 points. If they bid for and achieve 13 tricks, they receive 26 points. Failure to achieve a bid of 13 results in a 16-point deduction.
The game ends when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points, declaring that team the winner.
