ArtClash was created to inspire daily practice in drawing, sketching, and cartooning.
This is an evolving project. While the first game is complete, expect more content and improvements soon.
You can freely draw anything or select a topic—or a series of topics—and add optional constraints like a time limit, color limit, or canvas size. Create your piece, earn points when others guess it correctly!
This is a solo project, built for my wife and me to practice daily and to motivate others to do the same.
Current features:
• Paint - Sketch, Paint, and Blend
• Import images to use as references or paint directly over them
• Select topics and constraints, create your artwork, and earn points for each correct guess
• 6 difficulty levels for topics, from single words to combinations of up to 5 different words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)
• Choose from 3 constraints for bonus points: time, color limits, or canvas size
• Freely draw anything you imagine and share it with others
• NSFW flag, letting you choose whether to view others' images marked as not safe for work
Known early access issues and bugs:
• Basic UI: The current Unity interface has been challenging. Plans are in place to replace it with a more responsive XAML-based system.
• For best performance on lower-end devices, please keep canvas sizes under 1024x1024. The GPU-accelerated brush engine may slow down with large canvases and small brushes. We are testing other engines for comparison and are committed to delivering a much faster experience.
Upcoming features:
• Additional games (starting with a drawing "telephone" game)
• Enhanced social features (custom avatars, comments on projects or completed games, friend and follow systems)
• Improved UI and a faster, more efficient brush engine
• Marquee selection and transform tools
• More brush options (the system supports any brush texture; we plan to add more and allow users to create and share their own)
• Advanced layer system (including transparent pixel locking and masking)
• Developer communication system: A dedicated feedback channel for feature requests, bug reports, and community voting on upcoming changes
• Moderator roles: Community members can be promoted to help review flagged content and manage issues
• Topic and constraint submissions: Users can suggest new topics and constraints, which will be added to the list after moderation
• Long-term goals include full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping tools.
Due to current performance considerations with large textures and the incomplete set of editing tools, this app is optimized for social competition and encouragement rather than being a full image editing suite at this stage.
