Avowed: Examining the Consequences of Accepting Sapadal's Power

by Logan Feb 20,2025

In Avowed, Sapadal's offer of power, similar to a previous "Voice" mission, initially presents a difficult choice. However, comparing the outcomes reveals a clear winner.

Should You Accept Sapadal's Power?

For optimal godlike strength in Avowed, accepting Sapadal's offer during the "Ancient Soil" mission is highly recommended. The resulting ability far surpasses the alternative.

Accepting Sapadal's Gift: The Thorn of Sapadal

Accepting yields the "Thorn of Sapadal" ability: "Fires a thorn of energy that passes through multiple enemies, causing damage on impact and momentarily Rooting them in place." This is advantageous for several reasons. It provides additional damage and the root effect creates opportunities for devastating combos, such as enhanced fireball spellcasting.

Rejecting Sapadal's Offer: Godlike's Will

Refusal grants "Godlike's Will," providing an extra Ability Point for the Fighter, Ranger, or Wizard trees. This is identical to the reward for refusing the "Healing Touch" earlier. While extra Ability Points are useful for skill development, the unique Thorn of Sapadal ability is significantly superior.

Only refuse Sapadal's offer if you deliberately seek a heightened challenge. For optimal builds and enjoyment, accepting is the superior strategy.
