Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, developers advise reinstalling the game for a clean experience if you're not participating in the test.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play between PC and consoles, enabling players with linked Larian accounts to team up regardless of platform. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's mod count remains below ten.
Addressing a significant limitation, split-screen co-op is now being tested on the Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Beyond multiplayer enhancements, Patch 8 boasts a comprehensive photo mode with extensive customization options and twelve new subclasses to enhance gameplay diversity. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, although some issues may persist. A detailed changelog for the stress test is accessible on the game's official page.
