Capcom has confirmed ongoing performance optimizations for Monster Hunter Wilds, as revealed through the game's official German Twitter account on January 19, 2025.

Monster Hunter Germany demonstrated these refinements through gameplay footage featuring a hunter engaging Quematrice, the avian-inspired brute wyvern. The video highlights improvements to the Prioritize Framerate mode on PS5, which boosts frame rates at the cost of some visual fidelity.

The development team confirmed similar optimizations for the PC version, specifically targeting reduced GPU demands. "We're implementing comparable performance enhancements and evaluating potential reductions to recommended GPU specifications," stated the official post.

Current Minimum GPU Requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds

Currently requiring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT as minimum specifications, successful optimization could make Wilds playable on more modest gaming setups, broadening its potential audience.

Additionally, Capcom plans to release a free benchmarking tool to help players optimize settings and assess their system capabilities. These improvements might eliminate the need for immediate hardware upgrades for many players.

Initial Open Beta Performance Concerns

Following October and November 2024's beta testing period, players expressed disappointment with various technical issues. Steam users particularly noted primitive character models and performance inconsistencies, even on high-end systems.

Beyond the concerning visual quality, players reported frequent frame rate drops and other performance hiccups. Some managed minor improvements through settings adjustments, but often at the cost of graphical quality.

Capcom addressed these concerns in a November 1 statement, confirming fixes for frame generation artifacts in specific environments. "The complete version already demonstrates significant improvements beyond the beta's technical state," developers assured.

Players will soon experience these refinements firsthand during the second open beta test scheduled for February 7-10 and 14-17, featuring the return of Gypceros alongside a mystery monster. While currently unconfirmed, these performance upgrades may appear in the final pre-release test.
