Gems are powerful, equipable items that you can craft within the game, but unlocking them requires a few initial steps. Once you join Liu Bei's Volunteer Army in Chapter 1, make your way to an Inn where you'll receive a letter from Zhang Fei. This letter introduces you to Gems and the essential raw material called Pyroxene.
Pyroxene, crucial for crafting Gems, appears as large, jewel-like formations scattered randomly across the overworld. Keep an eye out for these as you traverse the world heading towards your next battle. Additionally, you can acquire Pyroxene through side quests, by collecting enough Old Coins, and by reading letters at the Inn. With these methods, you'll soon amass a decent stockpile.

The crafting process is randomized, meaning you select a number of Pyroxene to craft, and the game will produce one of several types of Gems.
