by Blake Jan 27,2025

This Stardew Valley guide explains how to obtain and utilize the Crystalarium, a valuable tool for gem and mineral replication.

Obtaining a Crystalarium

Crystalarium Crafting Recipe

The Crystalarium recipe unlocks at Mining Level 9. Crafting requires:

  • 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks.
  • 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 1-80) with Coal in a Furnace.
  • 2 Iridium Bars: Smelt Iridium Ore (found in Skull Cavern or from the Statue of Perfection) with Coal in a Furnace.
  • 1 Battery Pack: Obtained by placing a Lightning Rod outside during a thunderstorm.

Alternatively, obtain a Crystalarium by:

  • Completing the 25,000g Community Center bundle.
  • Donating 50 minerals to the Museum.

Using the Crystalarium

Crystalarium in Use

Place the Crystalarium anywhere (indoors or outdoors). The Quarry is a popular location for mass production.

The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (excluding Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds have the longest (5 days) but highest value.

To move a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. Any currently growing gem will drop. To change the gem being replicated, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem; the old gem will be ejected.

By using the Crystalarium, players can significantly increase their profits and create valuable gifts for Pelican Town residents. Note that the 1.6 update introduced minor changes to moving and changing gems within the Crystalarium. This guide reflects the latest game version.
