Team Cherry's post-launch support for Hollow Knight: Silksong continues with the release of patch 1.0.28891.
This update introduces a range of improvements, fixes, and some minor balancing adjustments. A crucial quality-of-life addition is that the game now automatically pauses if your controller disconnects—a welcome safety feature for such a demanding game. Controller support has seen broad enhancements.
Regarding balance, Sharp Dart and Cross Stitch damage has been slightly increased. The damage scaling for Rune Rage has been adjusted to align with other Silk Skills, while Thread Storm damage at higher needle levels has been marginally reduced. Notably, the Fine Pins wish drop chance is now 100% instead of 50%, though the required quantity has been increased.
Developer Team Cherry has reiterated that its top priority is improving the Simplified Chinese translation for Silksong. This follows significant criticism of the initial translation, which impacted the game's review score from Chinese players on Steam. These translation improvements are anticipated in the coming weeks.
Since its major release on September 4th, Silksong remains one of the most-played titles on Steam. To aid your ascent, here are some essential resources: the Silksong Interactive Map, a guide on how to farm Rosary Beads, our continuously updated Walkthrough featuring boss videos and guides, instructions for obtaining your first health upgrade (the initial four mask shards), and an excellent guide to Simple Keys and the doors they unlock.
