Daredevil: Born Again Streaming Guide & Release Dates

by Adam Mar 13,2025

In the mid-2010s, three seasons of Daredevil captivated audiences with its gritty portrayal of Hell's Kitchen, earning critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. The 2018 cancellation by Netflix, therefore, came as a shock. While Charlie Cox's Daredevil made brief appearances in later MCU projects like She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home, a solo series revival seemed unlikely. But, against expectations, the Man Without Fear is back. Though now streaming on the more family-friendly Disney+, Marvel promises a return to the grit and action that defined the original series.

What Is Daredevil: Born Again About?

Daredevil: Born Again serves as a sequel to the 2015 Daredevil series, carrying over most characters and plot threads. While its exact placement within the MCU timeline remains unclear, Charlie Cox's Daredevil has played a significant role in The Defenders and made appearances in She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home. His primary antagonist, Wilson Fisk, also appeared in the Disney+ series Echo.

Inspired by Frank Miller's iconic "Born Again" storyline, the show isn't a direct adaptation. Marvel's official synopsis describes the plot as follows:

Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, fights for justice through his law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues political ambitions in New York. As their pasts resurface, an inevitable confrontation looms.

Will There Be a Season 2?

Initially planned as a 19-episode season, Daredevil: Born Again has been split into two nine-episode seasons for streaming. Season one concludes with episode nine, while season two will adapt the remaining portion of the storyline. The release date for season two is yet to be announced.

What About the Rest of 'The Defenders'?

Daredevil was part of The Defenders, a miniseries following the adventures of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. The possibility of other Defenders returning is currently being explored by Marvel, according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
