Mobile Legends: Bang Bang returns to the Esports World Cup 2025! Following the apparent success of the 2024 Esports World Cup, more publishers are confirming their participation in the 2025 event. Garena's Free Fire was an early confirmation, and now Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang joins the roster.
The 2024 competition featured two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants won the MSC gold, while Smart Omega Empress triumphed in the Women's Invitational, defeating Team Vitality and ending their impressive 25-game win streak.
A Strong Showing, but is it Enough?
Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning for 2025. However, a noticeable trend is the lack of truly major championships represented. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup suggests the Esports World Cup might be viewed as a secondary event rather than the primary focus. This is a double-edged sword: it avoids overshadowing existing leagues, but it also risks being perceived as less significant than the main competitions.
Despite this, fans will undoubtedly appreciate the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
