Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous leadership structure implemented after Jim Ryan's retirement. This promotion elevates Nishino to oversee all SIE operations and the platform business group.

Simultaneously, Sony Corporation announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki, currently Sony's CFO, to President and CEO of the entire company. He replaces Kenichiro Yoshida, who held the position since April 2018. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will assume the role of CFO.

Last year, SIE leadership was divided between Nishino (hardware and technology) and Hermen Hulst (PlayStation Studios). Hulst will retain his position as head of PlayStation Studios. Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group.

In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences to expand the PlayStation community and its IP. He thanked Hulst for his continued leadership.
