Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is in development and will be directly linked to HBO's Harry Potter series (slated for 2026). The original game's phenomenal success—over 30 million copies sold since its 2023 launch—has cemented its place as a top performer.
David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, told Variety, "We've known fans want more, so we're focused on that." He highlighted the collaboration with Warner Bros. Television to create a unified narrative. Despite the game's 1800s setting (preceding the series), it will share overarching narrative elements and thematic connections with the show.
While details on the HBO Max series remain limited, Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, confirmed it will delve deeply into the beloved books. This presents a challenge: organically integrating the game with the series without forced connections, given the significant temporal gap. However, fans anticipate new Hogwarts lore and alumni secrets emerging from this collaboration.
