Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

by Penelope Feb 23,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your gear is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (I) weapons and enemies, but the difficulty quickly escalates to Level II, demanding Fine (II) equipment. This guide details how to acquire and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor:

Some Fine (II) gear can be found or purchased directly. However, most require upgrading. In Avowed, gear quality is indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral (I, II, etc.), with three incremental upgrades (+1 to +3) between each quality level.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), utilize the workbenches located at Party Camps. Each upgrade level (+1 to +3) requires specific materials depending on the gear type. After reaching +3, you can upgrade to Fine (II), requiring Adra – a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchant purchases, or dismantling Unique items.

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Gear:

While upgrading is effective, it’s resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) weapons and armor can occasionally spawn on Level II enemies, particularly Bounties, in Dawnshore early in the game. However, Common gear is significantly less effective against Level II foes, so health potions are essential.

Paradis, accessible after a key early Main Quest encounter (defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore), offers Fine (II) gear from merchants. Near the Bounty Board, twin sisters operate adjacent stalls: one (Merlylin) sells magical items, while the other offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This comprehensive guide covers obtaining Fine (II) weapons and armor in Avowed, offering both upgrade and acquisition strategies.
