KonoSuba: Fantastic Days is shutting down its servers on January 30th, 2025. This popular RPG, developed by Sesisoft, will end its service globally and in Japan simultaneously after nearly five years. However, a potential offline version is under consideration, allowing players to revisit the main storyline, key quests, and events. Further details on this offline version are pending.
Refunds and In-App Purchases:
The developers are handling the closure responsibly. Official channels will close on February 28th, 2025, and in-app purchases were disabled on October 31st, 2024. Players can still use existing Quartz and in-game items until the service ends. Refunds for unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 are available until January 30th, 2025.
A Look Back at KonoSuba: Fantastic Days:
Initially launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was the first mobile game based on the KonoSuba franchise. The game featured an engaging story set in a world threatened by the Devil King's army, charming storytelling, and appealing visuals with a visual novel-style story mode.
Unfortunately, like many gacha RPGs, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days is facing closure. Numerous anime-based games have shut down this year, often due to challenges in maintaining player engagement or managing the high costs of production.
