Moonstone, Marvel Snap's newest Ongoing card, is a game-changer. This powerful card copies the Ongoing effects of your other 1-, 2-, and 3-Cost Ongoing cards in its lane, making it a potent, albeit fragile, addition to your deck. Think of an enhanced Mystique – but building a successful deck around her requires strategy. Often called "the Glass Cannon of Marvel SNAP," mastering Moonstone demands careful deck construction.
After extensive testing, two deck builds consistently prove effective: Patriot and Tribunal strategies. This guide details both, providing optimization tips. If you're undecided about adding Moonstone to your collection, a brief review at the end should help you decide.

The Best Deck for Moonstone
Moonstone excels in a supporting role, rather than as the primary win condition. A reliable strategy involves integrating her into a Patriot-Ultron deck. Focus on leveraging one or two key Ongoing effects copied by Moonstone, rather than over-relying on her ability.
This Moonstone/Patriot/Ultron deck includes: Brood, Mystique, Dazzler, Mockingbird, Ant-Man, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, Blue Marvel, and Mister Sinister.

Moonstone Deck Synergies
- Set up board buffs by playing Brood, Sinister, or Squirrel Girl.
- Use one lane for Patriot, Mystique, and Moonstone (ideally in that order).
- Play Ultron in the final round to maximize buffed locations.
- Iron Man, Blue Marvel, and Mockingbird provide backup power if needed.
An Alternative Deck for Moonstone
For a more exciting, albeit less consistent, approach, pair Moonstone with Onslaught and The Living Tribunal. Here, Moonstone becomes a key win condition. This deck also includes: Mystique, Magik, Psylocke, Sera, Iron Man, Ravonna Renslayer, Captain America, Howard the Duck, and Iron Lad.

Ideal Play Line:
- Use Psylocke to play Moonstone early.
- Play Onslaught, Mystique, and Iron Man in her lane.
- In the final round, distribute power across lanes using The Living Tribunal.
Psylocke and Sera provide cost reduction, enabling earlier plays. Magik extends the match, setting up Onslaught and The Living Tribunal. Captain America and Iron Lad offer backup power. While many predicted a Moonstone-Onslaught-Tribunal meta, Super Skrull has proven a formidable counter.
How to Counter Moonstone
Super Skrull effectively counters Moonstone. Since her release, many players have added Super Skrull to their decks specifically to combat Moonstone strategies. Enchantress, Rogue, and Echo also neutralize Moonstone's abilities.
Moonstone's vulnerability stems from her absorbing abilities within her lane. Without protection (e.g., Invisible Woman), Enchantress, Echo, or Rogue easily shut down that lane. Alternatively, Super Skrull in another lane disrupts the overall strategy.
Is Moonstone Worth It?
Moonstone is a worthwhile investment for several reasons: 1) Her ability will become more valuable as more synergistic Ongoing cards are released; 2) She's in a Spotlight Cache with two other Series Five cards, reducing the risk of unsuccessful pulls; and 3) She offers nostalgic, powerful combo potential. If you enjoy high-impact combo plays, Moonstone is a valuable addition.
