Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently teased the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake or port within MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, during an interview with IGN. While acknowledging the fervent fan desire to see the PS3 exclusive on modern platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC), Okamura remained coy about concrete details. He stated that Konami is actively considering the future of the series and couldn't offer specifics at this time.
The speculation surrounding an MGS4 remake intensified last year following reports of placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appearing on Konami's official timeline. IGN further fueled the rumors by suggesting these titles are likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2. However, Konami has yet to officially confirm these plans.
Adding to the intrigue, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media last November.
