Pokémon GO's ninth anniversary in 2025 is shaping up to be a big one, with this Lunar New Year event preceding Pokémon GO Tour: Unova (Los Angeles and New Taipei City, February 21st-23rd, and globally in March). This event is a perfect chance to add some new Pokémon to your collection before the Unova event kicks off.
The Lunar New Year festivities begin Wednesday, January 29th, at 10:00 a.m. and end Sunday, February 2nd, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for increased encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini in the wild, including boosted Shiny rates for select Pokémon. 2km Eggs will also feature Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi.
