Veilguard eschews Denuvo DRM: A Vote of ConfidenceGood and bad news for Dragon Age: The Veilguard fans: no Denuvo DRM, but no PC preload.

BioWare's Trust in Players: No Denuvo DRM for Veilguard

PC Preload Unavailable

BioWare's Michael Gamble announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch without Denuvo DRM. This anti-piracy software, while common among publishers like EA, is often criticized for performance issues. The decision has been met with positive player response, with many praising BioWare's trust in their community.

However, this decision comes at a cost: no PC preload. With Veilguard requiring 100GB of storage, this absence is a significant drawback for some PC players. Console players, however, will still have access to preloading. Xbox early access players can install now, while PlayStation early access begins October 29th. Gamble also confirmed that Veilguard will not require an always-online connection.

Veilguard System Requirements RevealedAlongside the DRM news, BioWare released the system requirements. High-end PCs can utilize ray tracing and uncapped frame rates. Minimum specifications aim for broad accessibility. Consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) offer fidelity and performance modes targeting 30 and 60 FPS respectively. To fully enable ray tracing on PC, you'll need at least an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16GB RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT GPU.
