In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive clarified several aspects of the upcoming game, including its stance on DRM. Approaching its September 9th release, the developers have confirmed the absence of DRM software like Denuvo.
DRM, while intended to combat piracy, has a controversial history in gaming, often blamed for performance issues. Past examples, like Capcom's Enigma DRM in Monster Hunter Rise, highlight potential negative impacts on compatibility and modding.
Although Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be DRM-free, Easy Anti-Cheat will be implemented on PC to maintain fair play. Easy Anti-Cheat's use has previously faced scrutiny, notably in the Apex Legends community following a hacking incident at the ALGS 2024 tournament.
Currently, official mod support is not planned, which might disappoint some players.
