Master the art of word discovery in Squares! This daily word puzzle challenges you to form words by connecting letters on a grid to complete squares. The aim is to maximize your score by finding as many words as possible.
Gameplay:
Connect adjacent letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to create words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.
Scoring and Bonuses:
Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points). Beyond the main words, discover bonus words – obscure, archaic, or slang terms – which don't add to your score but appear on a separate list. You can continue hunting for bonus words even after finding all the main words. Each puzzle also features a "Word of the Day," a longer, special bonus word that unlocks two extra hints upon discovery.
Game Features:
- Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
- Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right to gain a fresh perspective and uncover hidden words.
- Hints: Unlock hints (3-5, depending on difficulty) revealing the first letter and search direction of a random word. Sharing the game link earns an extra hint!
- Letter Usage Indicator: After finding 40% of the words, a numerical hint appears on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter. An orange letter signifies it's no longer used in main words but might be in bonus words.
