The objective in Hearts is to achieve the lowest score by the game's end. Players must follow suit (e.g., Clubs). If unable to follow suit, any card may be played, except Hearts or the Queen of Spades on the first round ("trick"). The highest card of the leading suit wins the trick and leads the next. The trick winner earns one point per Heart and 13 points for the Queen of Spades. However, if a player "shoots the moon" (wins all Hearts and the Queen of Spades), they score zero, while other players receive 26 points each. The game concludes when a player reaches 100 points or more.
