Clash Royale's research reveals a widespread decline in Christmas card enthusiasm: six in ten adults receive fewer cards, and a staggering 79% couldn't care less. In fact, over 40% hope this trend persists into 2024.
To tap into this festive fatigue, Clash Royale is hosting a unique pop-up event at Boxpark Shoreditch in London. Attendees can shred unwanted Christmas cards in exchange for in-game rewards – a satisfying way to dispose of cards while gaining valuable in-game loot.
This anti-Christmas sentiment extends beyond cards. Clash Royale's research also found that one in five people are tired of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and over 20% have publicly voiced their displeasure with Christmas music or opted for beef instead of turkey.
The anti-Christmas spirit even reaches Clash Royale's content creators. Youtubers like Orange Juice Gaming are receiving hilariously awful gifts (think socks, oven mitts, and nail clippers!), but these packages cleverly include Clash Royale-themed wrapping paper containing in-game rewards for their fans.
