During the third day of Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hosted the "Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience." The event, moderated by Linda "VampyBitMe" Le, featured Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Ichiban Kasuga's voice actor, Kazuhiro Nakaya.
Attendees received a tantalizing hint about the upcoming game: "We can't tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you'll be surprised," according to a tweet by @TheYakuzaGuy. The tweet confirmed the new title will be a Like a Dragon series entry.
Given the series' shift to a JRPG format in the seventh mainline entry, the nature of this "surprise" is anyone's guess.
