In the world of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, taking damage is a common occurrence, especially for newcomers navigating the game's various difficulty levels. As you hack and slash your way through enemy hordes, you'll soon find the need to restore your health. Fortunately, the process of healing in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is refreshingly simple, relying on a special consumable item known as the meat bun. The game also offers an auto-healing feature, perfect for those who prefer not to micromanage their health bar constantly.
How to Heal in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Just like in its predecessors, Dynasty Warriors: Origins employs the iconic meat bun as your go-to healing item. You can discover these life-saving snacks by smashing pots scattered around enemy bases. Additionally, on the Historian and Wayfarer difficulty settings, defeated Enemy Officers may occasionally drop meat buns. However, if you're tackling the more challenging Hero and Ultimate Warrior difficulties, don't expect to find meat buns from defeated officers.
To replenish your health during the heat of battle, simply press Up on the D-Pad if you have at least one meat bun in your inventory. If your inventory is at capacity when you pick up a meat bun, it will be consumed automatically unless you're already at full health, in which case it remains on the ground. Initially, you're limited to carrying three meat buns, but you can expand this capacity by unlocking the Meat Bun Glutton skill if three isn't cutting it for you.
For those who'd rather not manage their healing manually, the "Auto-Use Meat Buns" option in the Configuration menu is a godsend. This setting automatically uses meat buns to heal when your health dips below a predetermined level. Even with auto-healing enabled, you can still manually consume meat buns, making it a smart choice to turn this feature on, even if you don't intend to depend on it entirely.
