Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms Hogwarts Legacy Sequel
A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed its commitment to developing a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, the Harry Potter-themed action RPG that has sold over 24 million copies since its release. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels highlighted the sequel's importance, stating (as reported by Variety):
"Developing a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority for us in the coming years. We anticipate significant growth from our games business, and this sequel will be a key contributor."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad spoke to Variety about the game's remarkable success, emphasizing its high replayability: "Many players have revisited the game multiple times," he noted. Beyond sales figures and replayability, Haddad expressed pride in how Hogwarts Legacy "brought Harry Potter to life in a new way for gamers, allowing them to truly inhabit this world and story."
Haddad believes this immersive experience is the key to the game's phenomenal reception and its position as the year's best-selling title. He added, "That's a spot typically occupied by established franchises' sequels, and we're thrilled to have achieved this."
Game8 was particularly impressed by Hogwarts Legacy's stunning visuals, calling it the most visually impressive Harry Potter experience available. For a complete review, please see our link below.
