Pokémon GO Adds Fan-Favored Feature Temporarily

Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids!

Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: remote raid passes for Shadow Raids! For the first time, trainers can participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely, using their existing remote raid passes. This limited-time opportunity runs from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time.

This event presents a unique chance to catch Pokémon with superior IV stats. Furthermore, the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time) offers a boosted chance to snag a shiny Shadow Ho-Oh and teach it the powerful Sacred Fire charged attack. This day also allows the use of Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.

While this functionality is event-exclusive, it addresses a long-standing player request since Shadow Raids were introduced in 2023. The temporary nature of remote raid pass usage in Shadow Raids raises questions about future implementation. Given past criticism regarding the in-person requirements for challenging raids, many hope this becomes a permanent feature. For now, trainers should take advantage of this exciting, albeit temporary, addition to the Pokemon GO experience.
