Nightmare Echoes are enhanced versions of existing Echoes in Wuthering Waves, significantly impacting Resonator usage. Superior to their standard counterparts, acquiring a Nightmare Echo is crucial for maximizing character potential. While obtaining them is relatively straightforward, defeating the Overlord-class enemies that drop them can be challenging depending on team strength. This guide explains Nightmare Echoes and how to acquire them.
What are Nightmare Echoes?
Nightmare Echoes are alternative variants of standard 4-cost Echoes, dropped by Overlord-class enemies. They feature unique active skills and offer a percentage-based elemental damage boost—a significant advantage over regular Echoes. This passive elemental damage bonus allows them to replace a 3-cost Echo, enabling a 441111 Echo composition.
Importantly, Nightmare Echoes retain the Sonata/Set effects of their regular counterparts, minimizing build adjustments.
