This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable additions: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Arrival in Pokémon Sleep
The December 2024 Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the debut of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix in Pokémon Sleep. Expect boosted encounter rates for both, including their Shiny variants.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi spawns on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant starting December 23rd at 3 PM. Your chances increase significantly with a "Snoozing" sleep type. Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot all share this sleep type, which is relatively common and easy to achieve. A "Balanced" sleep type might also work, but with reduced odds.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, appearing alongside its evolution Alolan Ninetails (both "Slumbering" sleep type), is rarer. It's found exclusively on Snowdrop Tundra, starting December 23rd at 3 PM. Achieving a "Slumbering" sleep type (requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep) dramatically increases your chances. Again, a "Balanced" sleep type offers a smaller chance.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
For the best chance at both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, head to Snowdrop Tundra. However, be aware that this island often requires a strong team, so prepare accordingly!
